Samsung Galaxy Note8 - Add a Virtual Private Network

Here's how to add a virtual private network (VPN) to your Galaxy Note8 to encrypt your internet traffic and protect your online identity via a secured remote server.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Connections
    More connection settings
    VPN
    .
  3. Tap the
    Menu icon
     then tap
    Add VPN Profile
    .
  4. If presented with a secure screen lock notification, tap
    OK
    .
    Refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock (pattern, PIN or password only) for assistance.
  5. From the 'Name' field, enter the appropriate name.
    Contact the VPN admin for assistance with server info and credentials.
  6. From the 'Type' field, tap the
    dropdown menu icon
     dropdown menu icon then select the appropriate VPN type.
  7. Enter the appropriate info into the applicable fields then tap
    Save
    .
    If applicable, tap
    Show advanced options
     to configure the following options, which vary depending on the selected VPN type:
    • DNS search domains
    • DNS servers
    • Forwarding routes
