Turn Personal Hotspot On / Off

The Personal Hotspot feature on your Apple® iPhone® lets other devices share your cellular data connection as a portable Wi-Fi network. Learn how to turn it on or off as needed.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap
    Personal Hotspot
    .
    If Personal Hotspot isn't available, ensure that it's set up.
  3. Tap the
    Allow Others to Join switch
     to turn on or off.
    For iPhone 12 and newer models, tap
    Maximize Compatibility
     in order to switch band from 5GHz to 2.4GHz.
