Setting up a new Apple ID on your iPhone allows you to personalize your device and securely use services like iCloud®, FaceTime® and iMessage®.

Before you begin

You can also create an ID for your Apple® iPhone® by visiting the Create Your Apple ID website.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap
    Apple Account
    .
  3. Tap
    Don't have an Apple Account?
    .
  4. From the Age Range screen, tap your age range.
  5. Enter your first and last name and birthday then tap
    Continue
    .
  6. From the Email Address screen, tap
    Don't have an email address?
    .
  7. Tap
    Get an iCloud Email Address
    .
  8. Enter your preferred email then tap
    Continue
    .
  9. Tap
    Create Email Address
     to confirm.
  10. Enter the password into the required fields then tap
    Continue
    .
  11. From the Phone Number screen, tap
    Continue
    .
  12. To continue, review the Terms and Conditions then tap
    Agree
    .
  13. To confirm, tap
    Agree
    .
    An email with verification steps is sent to the address chosen as the Apple ID.
