Here's how to find and prevent duplicate contacts from being stored in various accounts (e.g., iCloud®, Google™, etc.) on your Apple® iPhone®.

Before you begin

Multiple accounts with the same contacts may create duplicates. To minimize, choose the app to use to back up your contacts then turn that setting off for other apps.

iCloud

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap the
    Apple profile
    .
  3. Tap
    iCloud
     then tap
    See All
    .
  4. Tap the
    Contacts switch
     to turn on or off.

Google

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Apps
    Mail
    Mail Accounts
    .
  3. Tap the
    Contacts switch
     to turn on or off.
