Sending and receiving email messages is the primary function of the Gmail™ app. Learn to compose, address and send emails from your Android™ smartphone or tablet so you can start a conversation.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Gmail app
    .
  2. Tap
    Compose
    .
  3. Ensure the correct Gmail address displays in the From field.
  4. Select a contact from the suggested names or enter the recipient's email address.
  5. Add a subject then compose your email message.
    1. To add an attachment, tap the
      Attach icon
      .
    2. Tap
      Attach file
       or
      Insert from Drive
      .
    3. Select the desired attachment.
  6. Tap the
    Send icon
