HD Voice - Place a Video Call over Wi-Fi

Here's how to place a video call over Wi-Fi - HD Voice on your smartphone.

Video Calling over Wi-Fi requires both parties to have HD Voice capable devices and be provisioned for HD Voice service. For video call over HD only, click here.

Video Call is automatically handed over to Wi-Fi from 4G LTE when a known Wi-Fi access point is available.

Similarly Video Calls automatically hand off from Wi-Fi to 4G LTE when Wi-Fi signal is weak or no longer available.

No data charges apply for video calls over Wi-Fi; however, the voice portion of the call is billed per minute of use.

HD Voice is supported only on HD Voice capable Bluetooth headsets.

HD Voice is not recommended if you have a TTY / TDD device.

Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled.

From a Home screen, tap

Contacts.

If unavailable, navigate:

Apps icon

Contacts

Under Groups (where available), a new Video Calling group lists all the contacts with video calling capability.

Tap the applicable contact.

Tap the

Video Camera icon

(located next to the Phone icon).

If unavailable (displayed in gray) attempt to refresh the contact by navigating
