Network impact and restoration
Following the landfall of Hurricane Isaias, our field engineers have been working around the clock and have made significant progress in restoring service to many of the impacted customers across Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Post-storm, teams rapidly deployed to survey and repair cell site damage, refuel generators and deploy temporary mobile assets to restore connectivity.
While we have seen significant improvements, some customers are still experiencing service impacts particularly in the Central Gulf Coast area due to multiple fiber cuts. Our engineers continue working with partners to resolve the issue, deploying several alternate connections and moving temporary satellite network assets into the impacted areas while the fiber is being repaired.
Refueling operations are still underway to ensure those sites without commercial power relying on backup generators remain in service for Verizon customers and first responders. Restoration efforts will continue to focus on stabilizing power with temporary generators and mobile asset deployments as well as strategic fiber repairs.
Customers can track real-time network status using the Check Network Status tool on Verizon’s website or directly within the My Verizon mobile app.

10.10.26 Update
Impact to the network
In the aftermath of Hurricane Isaias and with ongoing severe weather and power outages impacting Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and surrounding Gulf Coast areas, some customers are experiencing service interruptions. While some sites are out of service in the heaviest hit areas and others are running on backup power, Verizon’s network remains resilient.
Our crews are on the ground and actively assessing cell sites, repairing and refueling generators, and bringing in portable generators where needed. We are actively working with our fuel vendors to keep sites running until commercial power is restored and will move mobile assets into place as needed that were pre-staged before the storm. Verizon engineers and local emergency crews are working toward full restoration as quickly and safely as possible.
After an emergency, call before you dig
Debris clean up and property repair are important tasks after a storm. Before beginning to clean up and make repairs, call 811 or visit call811.com to determine where fiber or other cables are buried. Contacting 811 before any digging project, large or small, is the easiest step toward reducing the chance of damaging underground fiber and keeping customers and first responders connected in critical moments. Fiber is the invisible footprint that moves data throughout Verizon’s network across the country and around the world. Cutting those cables when digging can result in customers losing service and data connections being lost. So before storm clean up begins, call 811.
Check the status of our network at any time
To report or check if a Verizon service outage is occurring in your area, you can visit the Check Network Status tool on our website or on your My Verizon app under Support Topics. Once there, enter your location, select the type of service you are having an issue with and we’ll provide a real-time status update.
For Verizon customers, losing power at home no longer means losing access to the internet. Hotspot devices, such as Verizon’s battery-powered Orbic Speed Mobile Hotspot, will continue to work as long as the core cell network infrastructure has not been affected.
Phones with hotspots can be used to help connect devices such as laptops and tablets to the web.
Any phone, laptop, or tablet with cell connection will have internet access as long as Verizon’s cell sites are operational.

Satellite when it matters most
In emergency situations where traditional cellular networks are impacted, satellite connections can provide a critical lifeline for Verizon customers. All Verizon customers with compatible devices can send text messages to any other customer device via satellite if terrestrial cellular network service is interrupted, ensuring continued communication with first responders, loved ones, and emergency services.
Verizon encourages customers with compatible satellite-enabled devices (such as iPhone 14 or newer running iOS 18+, Google Pixel 9 or newer or Samsung Galaxy S25 or newer) to test emergency satellite messaging features before the storm makes landfall.
How residents and businesses can prepare in advance of a hurricane
In addition to preparing your device for satellite messaging, customers are urged to update their personal digital preparedness plans.
Verizon will continue monitoring Tropical Storm Isaias and will provide local network status updates as necessary. Customers can track real-time network status using the Check Network Status tool on Verizon’s website or directly within the My Verizon mobile app.
